The Donetsk Regional State Administration is strengthening social support for displaced persons through a network of humanitarian hubs

Chief of Staff of the Donetsk Regional State Administration Oleksandra Zhuravel, together with Director of the Department of Social Protection of the Regional State Administration Olena Tokareva, paid a working visit to humanitarian hubs for internally displaced persons in Poltava Oblast.

During the visit, representatives of the regional administration familiarized themselves with the conditions for providing assistance to displaced residents from Donetsk Oblast, spoke with staff of humanitarian centers and internally displaced persons currently residing in Poltava region. Particular attention was paid to issues of social protection, psychological support, humanitarian aid, and organizing leisure activities for children.

The meetings focused on the current needs of displaced persons, mechanisms of cooperation with territorial communities, and ways to further improve the operation of the hubs. Discussions also addressed the need to expand the range of social services and create comfortable conditions for the adaptation of IDPs within the communities of Poltava region.

Oleksandra Zhuravel emphasized that humanitarian hubs remain important centers of support for residents of Donetsk region who were forced to leave their homes because of the war. She thanked hub employees, volunteers, and partners for their daily work and support for people during these difficult times.

Olena Tokareva noted that the Donetsk Regional State Administration continues systematic efforts to strengthen social protection for internally displaced persons, ensure access to necessary services, and coordinate assistance for residents of the region.

The work of humanitarian hubs in Poltava region is an important component of support for displaced residents from Donetsk region, as they not only help meet people’s basic needs, but also contribute to their social adaptation and integration into new communities.
