The Donetsk Regional Center for Tourism and Local History for Schoolchildren organized an active educational and sports event called “Sports Maze” in Kropyvnytskyi.
Nearly 200 children took part in the event, where they had the opportunity to test their skills in micro-orienteering. Participants learned to quickly read a sports map, locate control points, determine the optimal route, and make quick decisions on the go.
For some of the students, this event served as their first practical introduction to orienteering, while others tested and refined the skills they had already acquired.
Micro-orienteering is a form of physical activity as well as an effective tool for developing attention, endurance, spatial thinking, and adaptability when route conditions change. Such events are aimed at promoting a healthy lifestyle, mutual support, and active leisure among students in the Donetsk region.
