Martial law conditions require increased attention from both employees and employers to occupational safety measures and the prevention of workplace accidents.
When working in areas affected by hostilities, it is essential to follow measures aimed at preventing injuries and other negative health consequences.
Before starting work ⤵️
🔹 Inspect the work area and access routes for explosive or suspicious objects. The work zone must be free of damaged or unstable structures and destroyed vegetation.
☝️ Work must not be carried out in areas that have not been cleared after shelling.
🔹 Whenever possible, perform outdoor work during daylight hours. In areas where artificial lighting is used, light masking is recommended. Avoid prolonged continuous work in areas close to active hostilities.
🔹 Familiarize yourself with the emergency response and accident management plan.
During work ⤵️
🔸 Immediately stop all work if there is a threat of hostilities.
🔸 In case of danger, minimize movement in open areas and proceed to civil protection shelters or other suitable cover. Before leaving the workplace, switch off all power sources of equipment in use and ensure proper storage of materials and assets. Use only safe routes for movement.
🔸 Constantly monitor alerts received via communication devices (including mobile phones) regarding potential threats and inform nearby colleagues.
After completing work ⤵️
✔️ Inform your supervisor about any casualties identified in the work area, damage to buildings or equipment, and any explosive objects found. Act according to their instructions.
✔️ Consume only water and food that have not been exposed to hazardous substances. Do not eat fruits or vegetables grown on contaminated soil. Follow personal hygiene rules.
