Communities in the Donetsk region donated books to the “Library of Hope” at Okhmatdyt

Published 01 October 2026 year, 14:43

On September 28, representatives of communities in the Donetsk region, the Donetsk Regional State Administration, and the Donetsk Regional Children’s Library donated fiction books and gifts to help establish the collection of the “Library of Hope” children’s library at the “Okhmatdyt” National Children’s Specialized Hospital.

The initiative aims to create a cozy space filled with books for children undergoing treatment and rehabilitation, where they can take their minds off the daily routine of the hospital and immerse themselves in a world of stories and imagination.

Oleksandr Shevchenko, Deputy Head of the Donetsk Regional State Administration, who delivered the collected books to the “Library of Hope,” noted that even amid the war, communities in the Donetsk region are finding ways to support one another.

Local communities across the region, the nonprofit organization “Center for Community Development,” and representatives of “Okhmatdyt” joined this charitable initiative.

The donated books will become part of the “Library of Hope” collection and will help create a space for young patients to read, relax, and experience positive emotions.
