The experience of veterans—both men and women—is unique and valuable. It involves responsibility, working in challenging conditions, making critical decisions, leadership, and resilience.
At the same time, when looking for a job in the civilian labor market, it is important to know how to present this experience effectively.
How can you identify the professional skills acquired during service and not only apply them in a new job but also understand which direction to pursue next?
It is precisely for this reason that the government is actively implementing digital tools to support the professional transition of veterans.
One of them is the “Veteran Career” digital platform, which helps structure your experience and understand exactly where it can be useful in the civilian sector.
The key advantage lies in the built-in Military Skills Translator technology.
The system automatically analyzes your experience and effectively translates military skills into the language of civilian professions so that employers can better understand the value of veteran candidates.
Based on this analysis, job openings that best match your skills are immediately selected. This means you don’t have to review every available position one by one.
How to use it:
➡️ Go to the “Veteran Career” platform.
➡️ Fill out a short questionnaire about your military service, education, and experience (without disclosing sensitive or classified information).
➡️ The system will analyze your skills, including those acquired during your service, and match you with relevant job openings.
➡️ Browse job offers, create a resume, and access training materials.
The platform also provides support for creating a resume, specifically on how to properly describe your military service experience so that it works in your favor.
In addition, after registration, you gain access to a video course on employment that helps you identify your strengths, choose a career path, and prepare for an interview.
Currently, there are over 62,000 active job openings on the “Veteran Career” platform.
This is an opportunity to avoid searching for a job “blindly” and instead use a tool that helps you understand your own capabilities, as well as boosts your confidence for professional development and success.
