As part of the national project “Side by Side: United Communities,” an online meeting was held between the teaching staff and students of Kostiantynivka Secondary School No. 1 (Grades 1–12) of the Kostiantynivka City Council in Donetsk Oblast and the Multidisciplinary Lyceum of the Oleksandriya City Council in Kirovohrad Oblast.
The event took the form of an educational workshop titled “Presentation of Volunteer Projects” as part of the “MetaPlan” project and focused on the theme of volunteering as a real opportunity to do good today.
During the meeting, students learned about the concept of volunteering, its fundamentals, and its significance in modern society. They discussed why volunteer work is particularly important right now and learned how everyone can get involved in good deeds at school, in the community, and in everyday life.
Participants explored areas of assistance available to students: supporting younger students, participating in charitable initiatives, writing letters of support, environmental campaigns, and social projects.
A special part of the event was a presentation of volunteer ideas by teams from two educational institutions. The students shared their own vision of how, through joint action, compassion, and responsibility, we can change the community for the better.
The meeting served as a space for lively discussion, the exchange of experiences, and the development of active citizenship, reaffirming once again that kindness begins with each of us.
