Representatives of the administration of the Regional Clinical Traumatology Hospital held a working meeting with the team from the Superhumans Center, a nationwide medical center for war-related trauma, in Dnipro. The main goal of this collaboration is to create a clear and effective rehabilitation pathway for military personnel and civilians in the Donetsk region who have suffered severe injuries and require prosthetics.
High-quality and comfortable prosthetic care always begins long before the prosthesis itself is manufactured. That is why early rehabilitation and surgical preparation of patients will be a key focus of the collaboration between the Regional Clinical Traumatology Hospital and Superhumans.
As part of this collaboration, the parties have agreed that orthopedic surgeons and trauma specialists at the OKTL will consult with patients, assess the condition of their stumps, and, if necessary, perform reconstructive and other surgical procedures to ensure proper preparation for prosthetics.
Early rehabilitation will be a key component of this collaboration. The hospital’s specialists will work with patients immediately after injury or surgery to prevent complications, shape the stump, restore joint mobility, and strengthen the musculature.
A seamless patient pathway has also been established. After completing early rehabilitation and pre-prosthetic preparation at the OKTL Municipal Non-Profit Enterprise, patients will be referred to the Superhumans Center in Dnipro, where they will undergo prosthetic fitting, prosthesis adjustment, and the final stage of adaptation. Thanks to this systematic collaboration, patients from the Donetsk region will receive a full cycle of highly specialized care: from the first days after injury to a full return to an active life.
