Participant in the regional contest “Young Person of the Year – 2026” “Creators of Change and Opportunities” category: Diana Vasilyeva
Diana Vasilyeva is a shining example of a new generation of Ukrainian leaders for whom active citizenship is a conscious life choice. Although she lost her family home due to the war, she has not lost her connection to the Donetsk region and has continued to work for its future.
Today, Diana lives in Kyiv, is studying “Transport Technologies” at the National Technical University, and works as a librarian at the Mangush Public Library, transforming it into a modern educational and cultural space. She combines her work with academic pursuits and civic engagement: she completed an internship with the Lithuanian Research Council on migration crises, participated in the Erasmus+ program in Serbia, and has published her own academic papers.
Diana is constantly expanding her knowledge in the areas of women’s leadership, tactical medicine, and youth strategy. In May 2026, she was elected chair of the Youth Council under the Mangush Village Council. She is also an active participant in the Donetsk Region Youth Congress, where she advocates for the interests of young people in her region.
