On September 28, a nationwide roundtable discussion titled “Ukraine–Greece: People, Heritage, Routes” was held in Dnipro to mark World Tourism Day. The event was co-organized by the Federation of Greek Societies of Ukraine.
Natalia Vorobyova, head of the Mangush Village Military Administration, participated in the roundtable.
The discussion focused on Ukraine’s Greek historical and cultural heritage, its preservation, and opportunities for utilizing it in the development of tourism. Participants discussed the history of the Greek community in Dnipro, contemporary cultural initiatives, youth engagement, Greek language education, and ties with Greece.
A separate part of the event featured the presentation of the audio guide “Greek Dnipro: From the Past to the Present” and an interactive map highlighting the first stops on a tourist route. They also discussed modern approaches to preserving cultural heritage and the prospects for cultural diplomacy, educational exchanges, and cooperation between Ukrainian and Greek cities.
For the Mangush community, the topic of preserving Greek heritage is particularly close to their hearts. The history, culture, and traditions of the Greeks of Nadazov are an integral part of our community’s history, which is important to preserve, study, and pass on to future generations.
