On September 29, an online meeting was held, chaired by Lyudmyla Shemelenets, First Deputy Minister of Social Policy, Family, and Unity of Ukraine, regarding the implementation of the Cabinet of Ministers’ resolution on providing assistance to the population during the 2026/27 heating season.
The meeting was attended by Oleksandr Shevchenko, Deputy Head of the Donetsk Regional State Administration, and the heads of the relevant departments of the regional state administration.
The meeting focused primarily on organizing the provision of one-time “Winter Support” cash assistance to residents of frontline territories.
Meeting participants discussed the mechanism for providing assistance, including the process of accepting applications from the public, verifying households in need of support, and coordinating with international and national partners.
Following the meeting, representatives of the regional state administrations received specific instructions on organizing efforts to provide assistance to residents of frontline territories.
For the Donetsk region, the issue of supporting the population during the heating season is particularly important. Due to the security situation, residents of frontline communities need additional support to ensure adequate living conditions during the fall and winter months.
The Donetsk Regional State Administration, in cooperation with central government agencies and international partners, continues to work to provide timely assistance to residents of the region who need it.
