The development of charging infrastructure for electric vehicles is one of the priority areas of the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine, primarily in the context of strengthening energy security and reducing dependence on imported energy.
Measures to promote electromobility are set out in the National Renewable Energy Action Plan until 2030, the National Energy and Climate Plan, and the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals.
Taking into account the need to develop charging infrastructure for electric vehicles due to the increase in their number on Ukrainian roads, the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine has created an interactive map of favorable locations for electric vehicle charging stations. The map was created with due regard to the requirements of Regulation (EU) 2023/1804 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 13 September 2023 on the deployment of alternative fuels infrastructure and repealing Directive 2014/94/EU.
This tool will help to optimize the development of the electric charging infrastructure network, in particular on international roads where there are no charging stations on stretches of 40 km or more.
The map was created in cooperation with distribution system operators and electric mobility experts and includes data on the most favorable locations, including available capacity, for the deployment of new electric charging complexes or the installation of new charging stations. This will not only ensure the comfort and safety of electric vehicle drivers, but also stimulate the development of charging point infrastructure, contributing to Ukraine's transition to more environmentally friendly transportation.
This project promotes the development of electric mobility in Ukraine and integration with the European transport network.
