On January 21, 2026, on the eve of the Sobornost Day of Ukraine, representatives of the youth of the Donetsk region took part in the round table "Sobornost as the integrity of territories and the spiritual unity of citizens", which was held in the city of Kyiv at the initiative of the Department for the Promotion of Ukrainian National and Civic Identity of the All-Ukrainian Youth Center.
The event became a platform for a professional and open dialogue on the importance of sobornost as one of the key principles of Ukrainian statehood, national unity and the stability of society, especially in the conditions of a full-scale Russian-Ukrainian war.
During the discussion, the participants focused on the historical parallels between the events of the Ukrainian Revolution of 1917–1921 and the modern challenges facing Ukraine. Special attention was paid to the historical context of the celebration of the Day of Unity, the events associated with the proclamation of the IV Universal of the Ukrainian People's Republic, as well as the signing of the Act of Union of the UNR and the ZUNR as a symbol of the desire of Ukrainians for unity.
The discussion was joined by Yulia Golubnycha-Shlenchak, Doctor of Philosophy, researcher of the camp period of the UNR army and national-patriotic education in the Ukrainian army, who presented a thorough historical and analytical view of the processes of state formation in the conditions of the struggle for independence.
The event resulted in joint reflection and participation in the cognitive historical board game "Pseudo", which contributed to the deepening of informal communication, exchange of ideas and consolidation of youth around the values of unity and Ukrainian identity.
The participation of the youth of Donetsk Oblast in the event was another step towards strengthening interregional interaction, forming an active civic position, and establishing common statesmanship.
