As part of the national project "Side by Side: United Communities," a meeting was held between the leaders of the student self-government bodies of the Bakhmut and Kremenchuk communities. The unifying event was a virtual excursion-almanac entitled "Bakhmut. Eastern Fortress."

The young participants began the meeting with words of sincere gratitude to the defenders of Ukraine. It is thanks to our soldiers that young people have the opportunity to study, communicate, and dream. Those present honored the memory of all the heroes and innocent victims of the war with a minute of silence.

Students and teachers learned about the main areas of work of community self-government. Of particular interest was a video by representatives of the Kremenchuk "Army of Good," who shared their experiences of volunteer work.

During the virtual tour, about 80 schoolchildren from Bakhmut and Kremenchuk not only communicated, but also discovered little-known historical facts about the traditions and prominent figures of the fortress city. The pages of the almanac allowed children from Kremenchuk and Bakhmut to "stroll" through the cozy streets of the pre-war city, which will forever remain in their memory as a city of thousands of roses and sincere hearts.

After the tour, the students left warm wishes for their new friends. They expressed their firm conviction that Bakhmut will surely be reborn, like the Phoenix, and become a symbol of the indomitable Ukrainian spirit.

The meeting was an important step towards establishing ongoing dialogue between youth leaders from partner communities.

Together we are strong!

Together towards a peaceful future for Ukraine!
