During the Ukraine Recovery Conference 2026 in Gdansk, Kristina Vasyliuk, a member of the Youth Council under the Donetsk Regional State Administration and the Head of the Youth Council under the Kostyantynivka City Council, presented the experience of Donetsk Region youth at the international level.
As part of the Recovery Generation Youth House side event, Kristina spoke at a discussion that brought together representatives of international organizations, state institutions, civil society, and the youth sector. The discussion focused on the role of youth in the recovery processes of Ukraine and the formation of sustainable communities.
For Donetsk Region, participation in the event was an important opportunity to voice the realities in which the youth of the frontline region live and work today, to share practical experience of youth participation, and to present successful examples of youth initiatives that continue to develop despite the challenges of war. Special attention was paid to how the experience of young people should be taken into account when shaping recovery policies at the local and national levels.
The youth of Donetsk region prove once again: they are not only talking about the future, but are already active participants in the processes of recovery, community development, and preservation of regional identity.
Participation in the event was made possible thanks to the support of the NGO "Responsible Citizens".
The Recovery Generation Youth House was organized by the Ukrainian Network for the Rights of the Child. The event was held by the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine with the support of UNICEF in Ukraine and the Askold and Dir Foundation, which is administered by ISAR Unity within the framework of the project "Strong Civil Society of Ukraine - a Driver of Reforms and Democracy" funded by Norway and Sweden.
