Published 17 July 2026 year, 13:03

Participant in the regional competition “Young Person of the Year – 2026” in the “Knowledge Leaders” category: Anastasia Sagay

Anastasia Sagay is a math teacher in Kramatorsk who, even amid the war, creates a space of knowledge, support, and confidence for her students. She earned her master’s degree from Donbas State Pedagogical University and, from the very beginning of her career, has combined modern educational approaches with a focus on the emotional well-being of her students.

While teaching remotely, Anastasia actively uses digital tools such as Desmos, Gynzy, Classtime, and Padlet, transforming math lessons into interactive sessions that foster critical thinking, financial literacy, and teamwork. Her original “mathematical journeys” through Ukraine help students not only better grasp the material but also strengthen their connection to their homeland.

Another area of her work involves collaborating with the humanitarian organization People in Need, where she serves as a tutor and helps schoolchildren overcome the educational gaps caused by the war.

Anastasia’s professionalism is evidenced by her significant achievements: in 2025, she successfully passed the nationwide certification for educators, and in 2026, she took second place in the regional round of the “Teacher of the Year” competition. Her teaching methods are published in professional journals, and she shares her experience during seminars and professional meetings.

The best proof of the effectiveness of her work is the success of her students, who go on to win academic competitions and contests. Through her daily work, Anastasia demonstrates that a modern teacher is not only a conduit of knowledge but also a source of support, faith, and inspiration for the younger generation.
