Dmytro Shynkar heads the “Yednannia” humanitarian hub of the Pokrovska City Territorial Community, located in the city of Sheptytskyi in Lviv Oblast. The center provides comprehensive support to internally displaced persons from the Donetsk region who were forced to leave their homes due to the war.
Dmytro’s main focus is on providing displaced persons with food, hygiene supplies, clothing, medical supplies, and rehabilitation equipment. To this end, he collaborates with international humanitarian organizations, charitable foundations, and volunteers. The hub pays special attention to the elderly, people with disabilities, large families, and families of military personnel.
In addition to distributing aid, an interagency consultation space has been set up at the hub. Dmytro brings in specialists from the Pension Fund, employment centers, and social protection agencies to address issues related to benefits, work history, and employment. Internally displaced persons also receive free legal consultations on restoring documents and obtaining compensation for damaged property, as well as psychological support and information about temporary housing.
The hub hosts workshops, cultural events, and educational activities for both children and adults. Dmytro Shynkar is constantly improving his skills in crisis management and humanitarian response, expanding the center’s services for residents of the Pokrovska community.
