Mykyta Telychko was born in Donetsk, and his childhood and youth are closely connected with Vuhledar. Despite being forced to relocate because of Russian aggression, he has maintained a strong connection with his native Donetsk Region and continued developing his skills in robotics, programming, mathematics and artificial intelligence.
From 2017 to 2023, Mykyta was the captain of the RoboClub youth robotics team in Vuhledar. Under his leadership, the team won the All-Ukrainian Robotics Olympiad four years in a row and earned awards at international competitions in Canada, Germany, Hungary, Estonia and the Czech Republic.
One of his most important scientific projects is an interactive sign language learning dictionary using computer vision and open data. The project received awards at national and international competitions, including a gold medal at INFOMATRIX 2025 and the title of Northern Ireland Young Scientist Overall Winner in 2024.
Mykyta not only achieves outstanding results himself but also shares his knowledge with others. He conducts robotics and programming classes for children, supports displaced schoolchildren and contributes to the development of STEM education.
His story is an example of how knowledge, perseverance and responsibility to one’s community can turn personal achievements into opportunities for others.
