To strengthen oversight of the organization and quality of preventive vaccinations, the State Institution “DONETSK REGIONAL CENTER FOR PUBLIC HEALTH OF THE MINISTRY OF HEALTH” and the Regional State Administration’s Department of Health have developed a schedule for monitoring healthcare facilities in the Donetsk region that provide immunization services. According to the schedule, monitoring activities will be conducted at 33 healthcare facilities in the region from September through November 2026.
The monitoring is aimed at evaluating the organization of immunization at these facilities, including: planning and implementation of preventive vaccination programs, training of healthcare workers, record-keeping and reporting, entry of vaccination data into medical information systems, availability of vaccines and related supplies, as well as compliance with “cold chain” requirements during the storage and transportation of medical immunobiological preparations. Particular attention is paid to the availability of refrigeration equipment, temperature control devices, backup power sources, and standard operating procedures in case of emergencies.
On September 16, 2026, the first monitoring visit was conducted in accordance with the approved schedule at the Slovyansk City Primary Health Care Center. During the monitoring, a comprehensive assessment was conducted of the organization of immunoprophylaxis measures at the facility. Specifically, the assessment analyzed staffing levels and training of healthcare workers, vaccination coverage, the maintenance of electronic vaccination records, public awareness and outreach efforts, as well as the availability of equipment for vaccine storage and transportation.
The monitoring results showed that 100% of healthcare workers involved in administering preventive vaccinations received the necessary training in 2025; the facility conducts a systematic analysis of immunization coverage and actively communicates with the public. The facility is equipped with refrigeration units, temperature-control devices, and backup power sources to maintain the continuity of the “cold chain.”
Conducting such monitoring activities allows for the timely identification of issues, the determination of solutions, and contributes to improving the quality of immunization services for the population of the Donetsk region.
