Igor Boiko, Deputy Head of the Donetsk Regional State Administration, held a meeting to ensure the stable operation of mobile communications and the internet in the region during power outages. The meeting was attended by representatives of Ukraine’s leading mobile operators: PJSC “Vodafone Ukraine,” PJSC “Kyivstar,” and LLC “Lifecell,” as well as representatives of relevant departments of the Donetsk Regional State Administration.
During the meeting, participants discussed pressing issues related to ensuring the uninterrupted operation of mobile communications and mobile internet amid energy restrictions, and identified priority steps to enhance the resilience of the region’s telecommunications infrastructure.
Ihor Boiko emphasized that under martial law, mobile communications and mobile internet are not merely services but a critically important component of security infrastructure. They ensure the prompt dissemination of information to the public, access to official resources, coordination of actions, and timely response to threats.
“Today’s meeting should be focused not only on discussion but on identifying urgent solutions to ensure the continuous operation of mobile communications and mobile internet during power outages, with a clear definition of effective ways to resolve the issue at hand. I ask all participants to focus on the outcome,” emphasized Ihor Boiko.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed to continue coordinating their efforts and developing specific solutions aimed at ensuring stable communications for the region’s residents, even in the face of energy challenges.
