Ihor Boiko, Deputy Head of the Donetsk Regional State Administration, held a meeting on the operation of mobile communication networks in the event of potential emergency and stabilization power outages.
The meeting was attended by representatives of mobile network operators, relevant departments of the regional state administration, and heads of military administrations in the region’s settlements.
During the meeting, participants discussed the readiness of mobile networks for potential prolonged power outages. Particular attention was paid to ensuring the energy independence of base stations, the availability of generators, and modern battery systems capable of keeping equipment operational during prolonged power outages.
They also addressed security and logistics issues—specifically, the rapid connection of stationary generators and the delivery of backup power sources and fuel to mobile communication facilities.
Cooperation between operators and the military administrations of local communities emerged as a key issue. They discussed the need to restore power to mobile communication facilities as quickly as possible in the event of emergency outages.
Ihor Boiko emphasized that the stable operation of mobile communications under martial law is critically important for public safety, the coordination of emergency services, and ensuring that citizens are promptly informed.
Following the meeting, key issues were identified, and next steps were outlined to strengthen the resilience of mobile communication networks in the Donetsk region.
