In the Donetsk region, efforts continue to inform war veterans, their family members, and the family members of fallen (deceased) Defenders of Ukraine about the social benefits provided at the national, regional, and local levels.
Today, meetings were held with veterans, their family members, and the family members of fallen (deceased) Defenders of Ukraine from the Avdiivka and Cherkasy communities, with the participation of representatives from the Regional State Administration’s Department of Veterans’ Policy, the Commissioner for Persons Missing Under Special Circumstances, the Main Directorate of the Pension Fund of Ukraine in Donetsk Oblast, and the Avdiivka Central City Hospital, a municipal nonprofit institution.
During the meeting, the following topics were discussed:
- the legal status of persons missing under special circumstances during military service;
- providing information on additional social guarantees for war veterans funded by the community budget;
- the procedure for paying a one-time cash benefit on Ukraine’s Independence Day
- in 2026 to war veterans, combatants, persons with war-related disabilities, and other categories of citizens specified by law;
- medical care for veterans at the Avdiivka Central City Hospital, which has been relocated to Kyiv.
Artur Nasibyan, Head of the Department of Veterans’ Policy, provided information on the procedures for obtaining benefits and social services, and also discussed housing programs for veterans.
