A workshop on creating an accessible cultural environment will be held in Donetsk Oblast

The Donetsk Regional Museum of Local History invites representatives from the museum sector, cultural and educational institutions, the public sector, and all interested parties to participate in the workshop “Culture Without Borders,” which will take place as part of National Accessibility Week. The event aims to combine theoretical insights with practical tools for creating an accessible, inclusive, and open cultural space.

Key topics of the workshop:

  • tools for securing grants, partnerships, and non-financial support to implement inclusive cultural projects;
  • approaches to developing a barrier-free communication strategy in cultural institutions;
  • practical aspects of creating alt-text using artificial intelligence;
  • best practices of the “Rodina LG” Charitable Foundation in the field of accessibility.

Event speakers:

Olena Gavrysh – accessibility expert, director of the “Rodina LG” Charitable Foundation;

Hanna Klymenko—Head of the Educational Programs Department at the Art Arsenal; Lyudmyla Mazur—cultural activist, artist, mentor, and author of research on barrier-free and inclusive arts education, supported by the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine and the All-Ukrainian Communication Campaign for Social Change “Barrier-Free Means You Can.”

The workshop will take place on May 25, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., online via Google Meet.
