As part of the government project "Side by Side: Cohesive Communities", IDPs from Donetsk region had the opportunity to forget about their worries for one day and enjoy the majesty of the Ukrainian Carpathians.
A group of 24 of our fellow countrymen from Pokrovsk district, Bakhmut, Vuhledar and Kostiantynivka communities together with the head of the Ednannia humanitarian hub Viktor Hrytsak made an intense tour of the most picturesque corners of Zakarpattia:
- in the small village of Vuchkove in Verkhovyna, the IDPs visited a rare sculpture immortalizing a Carpathian bee in marble, and learned about the history of beekeeping in the local museum.
- Enjoyed the majestic views and powerful energy of the Shipit waterfall, located on the slopes of the Polonyna Borzhava mountain range, at the foot of Mount Gemba;
- climbed by cable car to one of the highest peaks of the Borzhava Polonyna - Mount Gemba, which revealed the beauty of the Carpathians.
The tour gave our countrymen not only the pleasure of breathtaking panoramas, but also a sense of peace and tranquility. The picturesque peaks and green fir trees have become a symbol of vitality for the residents of Donetsk region.
The Pokrovsk City Military Administration sincerely thanks everyone who contributed to this good cause and gave our countrymen a piece of warmth and a sense of unity.
