There are moments in everyone’s life when they have to start over. Such a journey became the reality for Olha Salatun from Kramatorsk.
Olha holds a higher education degree in Accounting and Economics, but she spent most of her career working as a sales consultant. She loved her job, made plans for the future, and enjoyed her everyday life in her hometown. But the war changed everything.
Together with her husband, Oleksandr, she was forced to leave her home and search for a safe place to live. For a fresh start, the family chose the city of Tiachiv in Zakarpattia region.
One of their first steps in the new place was to contact the Employment Service. Specialists carefully listened to Olha, helped assess her professional experience, and offered suitable employment opportunities. Soon, she received a job offer from the Lamela furniture factory.
The employer understands the needs of people who have been forced by the war to rebuild their lives from scratch. The company provides free accommodation, meals, and transportation to and from work. New employees receive on-the-job training, assistance with adaptation, and support in becoming part of a friendly team.
Today, Olha works as a wood products assembler. For her, this job has become not only a source of income but also an opportunity to regain confidence in her abilities and restore a sense of stability. Her husband Oleksandr also works at the same enterprise as a woodworking machine operator.
The housing provided by the company helped the couple adapt more quickly to their new life, establish their household, and feel more secure far from their native home.
