It is important for veterans to understand the medical services guaranteed by the state, patient pathways, and support programs. To this end, the National Health Service of Ukraine (NSZU) has created the “Guide for Veterans: Medical Guarantees 2026 in Plain Language”—a practical guide to accessing medical care.
The Guide includes explanations regarding:
- primary, outpatient, and inpatient medical care;
- treatment of war injuries and their consequences;
- rehabilitation, including after amputations;
- psychological and psychiatric care;
- dental care and dental prosthetics;
- provision of medications;
- long-term medical care;
- care for cardiovascular, oncological, and other diseases;
- a step-by-step guide on what to do in case of a violation of patient rights.
The guide will be useful for veterans, their family members, veterans’ support specialists, community representatives, and anyone working with the veteran community.
