The past, present, and future come together in the figure of the Mother. Like a true «Tree of Life,» she is deeply rooted in the traditions of her family and, at the same time, gives her children the strength to flourish and defend their homeland. Today, the walls of the “Pokrovsky KOD” cultural and educational center in Dnipro were filled with a special light. The event was attended by the mothers of our Heroes—those whose love serves as the strongest invisible armor for our defenders.
All the mothers of Donetsk Oblast were greeted by Vadym Filashkin, Head of the Donetsk Regional State Administration and Head of the Regional Military Administration, in a video address.
During the meeting, the mothers of servicemen shared warm memories of their children’s childhoods, spoke about family values, maternal support, and the power of love that helps overcome the toughest trials.
Oleksandr Shevchenko, Deputy Head of the Donetsk Regional State Administration, also addressed the audience with a welcoming speech, thanking the mothers for raising brave and unbreakable defenders of Ukraine, and expressing words of support and gratitude for their strength, faith, and endurance.
In a creative dialogue with specialists from the Donetsk Regional Art Museum, they created “The Amulet of a Mother’s Love” in honor of Mother’s Day. It was not just art therapy, but a profound conversation without words, expressed through colors and symbols.
Symbols of special significance to our region blossomed on the participants’ canvases: poppies—as a symbol of memory, faith, and the vitality of our lineage—and the eight-pointed star that greets everyone on the ceiling of our native Donetsk region, which has become a symbol of resilience, protection, and hope for us.
The event became a space of sincere gratitude, support, and unity for the mothers who today symbolize the resilience, love, and spiritual strength of Ukraine. The talismans created are a manifesto of maternal resilience. We thank the mothers of our defenders for their strength, faith, and hearts that hold the sky above Ukraine.
