Ukrainian Unity Day is the most important holiday symbolizing the unity of Ukrainian lands and people, the strength of spirit and steadfastness in the pursuit of freedom and life in a free country.
On this festive day, humanitarian hubs/centers established for residents of Donetsk Oblast in safe regions of Ukraine held a series of various events for children and adults to honor the unbreakable spirit of unity and freedom of independent Ukraine.
Themed events included "Glory to Sovereign Ukraine Now and Forever," "Unity of the State – Unity of the People," "Unity as Territorial Integrity and Spiritual Unity of Citizens," "Unity: A Continuing History," "The strength and power of the state lies in unity," "The unity of Ukraine: a history of great unity," "Ukraine is united. Together to victory," "Pink dreams and unbreakable lines," "We are little patriots of united Ukraine," "In unity lies the strength and power of the state" brought together children of different ages to honor this historic event and became a platform for discussing current issues of Ukrainian statehood, where participants listened to patriotic speeches and recalled the importance of unity in modern Ukraine.
Patriotic hours and book exhibitions "Those Who Unite the Shores," "In Unity Lies the Strength and Power of the State," "Unity - a Symbol of Freedom and Unity," "On Unity Day, Let's Join Hands," "A Single United Country," "Ukraine Is My Homeland," and "Unity, Suffered Through History" helped to better understand the meaning of unity in the context of today, learn about the historical events of 1919, and explore the theme of the unity of Ukrainian lands.
The national-patriotic events "A country of kind hearts," "One united Ukraine," "A journey through the country," "Unity that unites hearts," "Unity is the key to peace, harmony, and prosperity," and "Our strength is in unity" "My United and Forever United Ukraine" took place in the format of a live dialogue and consisted of interesting and informative quests, interactive tasks, thematic quizzes, musical performances, dance flash mobs, bibliotherapy, and recitations of patriotic poetry by Ukrainian poets.
Master classes "A united Ukraine is in our hands," "Wreath of unity," "Wings of unity," "Map of Ukraine," "With Ukraine in Our Hearts," "Hands of Unity," and "Symbols of Ukraine" on making state symbols, amulets, yellow and blue hearts, and three-dimensional appliqués "Ukraine is United" reminded us of Ukraine's unity and symbolized love for every corner of the country.
The creation of the "Map of Unity of Hearts," visits to the exhibitions "For Peace and Unity" and "The Unity of Ukraine: The Union of Spirituality and Strength," and drawing contests entitled "United. Free. Strong," "Ukraine," "In Unity Lies the Strength of the People," and "Ukraine Lives in My Heart" symbolized the indivisibility of Ukraine, shared values, and resilience, demonstrating national identity.
Visits by Donetsk residents to festive concert programs and performances by vocal, brass, choreographic, and instrumental ensembles created an atmosphere of unity and inspiration, leaving unforgettable impressions of patriotic songs and the enjoyment of majestic music.
The screening of thematic videos and documentaries touched the soul and inspired the building of a spiritually rich, free, and democratic Ukraine.
Participation in the "Living Chain of Unity" and interactive activities with wishes for the future of Ukraine allowed the residents of Donetsk region, holding blue and yellow flags, to join in creating a common dream and prove the unity of our nation.
Representatives of humanitarian hubs/centers, together with visitors, joined the online flash mob "United by Ukraine."
Unity is not only history, but also our joint actions today, caring for one another, and the desire to keep Ukraine strong and free. From east to west, from north to south, we are together!
