Iryna Zmeul is a participant in the 2025 regional competition “Woman of Donetsk Region” in the category “Creator of Her Own Business.”
Iryna Zmeul represents the Pokrovsk territorial community in Donetsk Region. She works as the head of the sewerage network section at the Pokrovskvodokanal municipal enterprise. Her entire career has been in the municipal services sector.
A woman who did not abandon her work even when her life was in danger, she constantly worked for the people, helping to provide the population with drinking water and centralized sewage disposal. Before becoming the head of the section, she worked as a senior dispatcher, always calmly listening to all complaints and appeals from citizens, providing answers and reassuring them. This is normal practice, but in the current conditions of martial law, it requires patience, fortitude, and inspiration. All of this came together in Iryna and inspired her to work and help people, thanks to which she remained in the Pokrovsk territorial community until the very last moment.
True strength of spirit helped Iryna to work for the good of the people under frequent shelling. Her dedication to her work, courage, integrity, and responsibility forced Iryna, during the evacuation of children from the Pokrovsk community, to decide to evacuate her child with his mother and remain at her workplace.
Today, Iryna lives in Dnipro and manages a team of emergency repair mechanics who are involved in evacuating the company's equipment and machinery from Donetsk Oblast. She remains at the company and continues her work.
