Natalia Shkrabiy is a participant in the 2025 regional contest "Woman of Donetsk Region" in the nomination "Caring Heart".
There is a woman in the Velykonovosilkivska community whose care has become a lifesaver for many. Natalia Shkrabiy is a social work specialist at the Center for the Provision of Social Services of the Velykonovosilkivska Village Council "Turbota" in the Kostiantynopil Starosta District. Since 2021, she has been coming to the aid of the elderly, people with disabilities, the lonely and war-weary every day.
Her job is not just about duties. It is a daily presence in the life of the community, where each visit is a ray of hope. She brings food, medicines, helps with household chores, but most importantly, she gives attention and human warmth.
In 2023, her diligent work was recognized with an award from the head of the Velykonovosilkovo military settlement administration. Unfortunately, the letters of appreciation and certificates remained in her native village in the combat zone, but the memory of her good deeds lives on in the hearts of the people.
With the outbreak of full-scale war, Natalia became a volunteer: she distributes humanitarian aid and supports IDPs. "I cannot pass by when I see a need. This is my community, my people," says Natalia.
And even now, when most of the community residents have been evacuated, she continues to help. Natalia takes care of people from the community who are now living in Kirovohrad Oblast, including the elderly, those with limited mobility, and those who are lonely.
Her life proves that caring can be a profession, a vocation and a way of life. She does not seek glory, but simply does good every day. And that is why her heart is caring, sincere, and infinitely strong!
