An open volleyball tournament organized by the Ocheretine Settlement Territorial Community was held in the city of Verkhivtseve at Lyceum No. 2 of the Verkhivtseve City Council.
The sporting event brought together young people and representatives from Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk regions as part of the national project “Side by Side: United Communities.”
Four teams participated in the competition: the Ocheretine Settlement Community team and three teams of young people from the Verkhivtseve City Community.
Mykhailo Svitlyk, Chairman of the Verkhivtseve City Council, and Mykola Kovalenko, Head of the Ocheretine Settlement Military Administration, greeted the participants and wished them fair play and victory.
The competition unfolded in a friendly yet intense and exciting atmosphere. The teams demonstrated a high level of preparation, teamwork, and true sportsmanship.
The tournament results were as follows:
- Third place went to the Ocheretyn Community team;
- Second place went to the juniors of Verkhivtseve Lyceum No. 1;
- First place went to the youth team of Verkhivtseve Lyceum No. 1.
All teams were awarded medals, certificates, trophies, and balls, which served as a fitting reward for their hard-fought competition.
The tournament left an exceptionally warm impression: the atmosphere of support, genuine emotions, team spirit, and the joy of working together proved once again that sports unite, inspire, and create unforgettable moments. Such events are an important step toward strengthening friendly ties between communities and fostering youth development, even during these challenging times for the country.
