The government has simplified and expanded the program providing compensation for the demining of agricultural land

Published 30 March 2026 year, 11:14

The government has adopted a decision to amend the Procedure for the Use of Funds Allocated in the State Budget to Compensate for the Costs of Humanitarian Demining of Agricultural Land, approved by Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 284 of March 12, 2024.

These amendments are intended to simplify the process of demining agricultural land for farmers. From now on, the Center for Humanitarian Demining will open escrow accounts into which funds for paying for demining work will be deposited.

Budget funds transferred to escrow accounts by December 31, 2025, may subsequently be used in accordance with a previously signed agreement between the Humanitarian Demining Center and an authorized bank.

Business entities in which the state owns 100% of the shares and which use state-owned land plots are also eligible for coverage of humanitarian demining costs.

Please note that this financial support provides full coverage of the costs of demining agricultural land conducted after April 15, 2024. Agricultural producers whose land plots have been confirmed as contaminated by the Humanitarian Demining Center are eligible to participate in the program.

Applications to participate in the program can be submitted through the State Agrarian Register.

The 2026 state budget allocates 2 billion hryvnias for the humanitarian demining of agricultural land. In total, more than 15,000 hectares of agricultural land have been returned to use since the program began.
