A foster family in the Avdiivka territorial community has been active for more than five years. During this time, 26 children—both from the Avdiivka community and from other communities in Donetsk Oblast—have been placed with the family.
Last week, in accordance with a decision by the Commission on the Protection of Children’s Rights of the Avdiivka City Military Administration, a young child from the Donetsk region who had been left without parental care in the city of Kharkiv was placed with the foster family. The foster parent took the child into her family, where the boy was warmly welcomed and provided with appropriate conditions for his upbringing and development.
Currently, five children are receiving temporary foster care services in the foster parent’s home. The children have been placed in educational and care institutions and are under the supervision of child welfare and social services.
Foster care services once again confirm their necessity and importance, especially when, under certain circumstances, children are left without parental care or proper adult supervision.
