In September 2025, the finals of the annual All-Ukrainian environmental competition Eco-Hackathon - 2025 took place, this year's theme was "Innovative digital technological solutions for a clean tomorrow in Ukraine. Eco-Ranger". The event was attended by young inventors from all over the country who presented modern ideas for an environmentally friendly future.
Polina Larenko, a student of the "Fundamentals of Environmental Monitoring" club of the Donetsk Regional Ecology and Nature Center, a student of the Konstantinovka Lyceum No. 9 of the Konstantinovka City Council, who took the first place, became the pride of Donetsk region!
On the first day of the competition, Polina presented her project "Smart Greenhouse: Optimizing Climate Parameters to Increase Yields and Energy Efficiency."
Anna Danylchenko, head of the DOENC circle, teacher of the Kostiantynivka Lyceum №9 of the Kostiantynivka City Council, and Vasyl Shubchynskyi, head of the methodological department of the DOENC, acted as mentors in the development of the project.
The idea was highly appreciated by the jury due to the combination of innovative technologies and environmental sustainability.
On the second day, the young researcher worked as part of the AI EcoVision team, which included students from Odesa, Sumy, Dnipro, and Chernihiv regions. Together, they developed a team project "Innovative Technological Solutions for a Clean Tomorrow in Ukraine," demonstrating excellent cooperation skills and creativity.
The Eco-Hackathon competition annually reveals new names of talented young scientists and inventors who create an environmentally friendly future for Ukraine with their ideas.
