Destroyed houses, smoke from explosions, and the constant hum of drones—this is what the residential area of Druzhkivka looks like right now. Despite the danger, police officers continue to arrive in the city to evacuate those waiting for help. This time, they evacuated a man with limited mobility and an elderly couple along with their dog.
The latest rescue mission took place amid constant attacks by Russian drones targeting police officers and civilians. At one address, law enforcement officers picked up an elderly man with limited mobility. To avoid exposing him to danger from drones, they had to cover part of the route on foot.
At another address, an elderly couple was already waiting for the “White Angels” with their belongings. At that moment, an enemy drone began to approach, so the law enforcement officers had to open fire on it.
“Let’s get out of here fast. It figured out where I was shooting from,” remarked a police officer as he led the people out of the danger zone.
The couple, along with their dog and belongings, quickly got into an armored vehicle. Within a few minutes, they were already far from the dangerous area.
All those evacuated are currently safe.
The Donetsk Regional Police are urging residents of frontline settlements not to risk their lives and to evacuate in a timely manner.
