The Kupava swimming pool in Brovary hosted the Ukrainian Autumn Swimming Championships for cadets, bringing together over 300 participants from 20 regions and the capital.
Eleven athletes from Donetsk region competed in the competition – representatives of the Regional Youth Sports School of Swimming and Synchronized Swimming of the Donetsk Regional Organization of the FST "Ukraine": Viktoria Pronchakova (who is also a member of the regional School of Higher Sports Excellence), Anastasia Kulikovska, Victoria Kuz, Vitaly-Ariel Hoch, Daniil Starostin, Kirill Melen, Kirill Mikhedkin, Marian Kish, Mark Ovcharenko, Sofia Mikhedkina, and Timur Burlay.
Viktoria Pronchakova from Soledar once again demonstrated a high level of skill. She won four gold medals in freestyle swimming: in the 100 m (with a time of 1:00.27), 200 m (2:14.81), 400 m (4:46.89), and 800 m (9:43.85) events.
The athlete also showed the best result in the freestyle triathlon (1768 points) and took first place in the endurance discipline (1685 points). In addition, Victoria finished fifth in the 200-meter medley (2:32.88).
The following athletes also made it into the top 8 in individual competitions:
- Mark Ovcharenko – 4th place in the 100 m butterfly (1:03.55) and in the butterfly triathlon (1313 points);
- Daniil Starostin – 7th place in the 200-meter backstroke (2:19.26), 8th place in the freestyle triathlon (1442 points).
The Donetsk region swimmers were trained by coaches Andriy Kaznacheyev, Svitlana Kaznacheyeva, Vadym Kolechko, and Serhiy Ksennikov.
