The Pokrovsk Clinical Intensive Care Hospital, which relocated to Kryvyi Rih due to the war, is ready to operate without a centralized power supply

This was announced by Vadym Filashkin, head of the Donetsk Regional State Administration and head of the regional military administration.

The medical staff has retained its team and equipment and continues to develop the facility. The hospital offers internal medicine, cardiology, surgery, and other specialties; a trauma unit has been set up, and a histology department has been opened. Surgeries are performed around the clock.

Both internally displaced persons from the Donetsk region and local residents receive care here.

To ensure that power outages do not halt the hospital’s operations, the electrical system has been completely overhauled. Now the facility can operate for extended periods on backup power, perform surgeries, use medical equipment, and provide emergency care.

Provisions have also been made for autonomous heating and sustained operation without a centralized water supply.

“Even a prolonged blackout should not halt the hospital’s operations.

We are continuing to prepare medical facilities in Donetsk Oblast for winter so that doctors can save lives under any circumstances,” emphasized Vadym Filashkin.
