On June 10, representatives of the regional state administration participated in a meeting on coordinating and facilitating forensic examination, identification, and the collection of biological samples within the Ukrainian Armed Forces, which was chaired by Iryna Vereshchuk, Deputy Head of the Office of the President.
During the meeting, the following issues were discussed:
- the status of drafting, coordinating, and adopting regulatory and legal acts;
- the status of burials at the National Military Memorial Cemetery of Unknown Defenders of Ukraine;
- the results of forensic examinations, excluding DNA testing, regarding unidentified bodies (remains) in the regions;
- the status of the signing of a cooperation agreement between the Government of Ukraine and the International Commission on Missing Persons.
Please be advised that on March 18, 2026, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the Regional State Administration and the state institution “National Military Memorial Cemetery.”
