Representatives from Donetsk Oblast took part in an off-site meeting of the Subcommittee on Information Policy and European Integration of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Humanitarian and Information Policy.
Oleksandr Shevchenko, Deputy Head of the Donetsk Regional State Administration, joined the event.
During the off-site meeting, participants discussed the operation of museums and cultural institutions in frontline and near-frontline regions, as well as the preservation and evacuation of cultural assets.
The importance of preserving historical memory in the face of contemporary challenges was raised. Speakers included Ukrainian MPs Mykyta Poturaiev and Yevheniia Kravchuk, who emphasized the importance of a legal response to crimes against culture and identity.
During the field meeting of the relevant subcommittee, the main focus was on the work of museums and cultural institutions in frontline regions. Discussions centered on the challenges faced by cultural institutions, as well as measures for the preservation and evacuation of cultural assets from territories under threat.
The events served as an important platform for interregional dialogue and helped consolidate efforts to protect cultural heritage and preserve historical memory in wartime.
