Representatives of the Donetsk Regional State Administration and the IDP Council at the Donetsk Regional State Administration take part in the Eastern Ukrainian Forum of IDP Councils, which takes place on September 4-5 in Dnipro.
The Forum brought together representatives of regional military administrations, local state authorities and local self-government bodies from six regions (Dnipropetrovs'k, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Sumy, Kharkiv, Chernihiv), as well as non-governmental, public and international organizations.
The event became a platform for discussing key issues of protecting the rights and supporting internally displaced persons, establishing cooperation between government agencies and the public sector, and developing joint solutions to strengthen community resilience.
The Forum participants worked in discussion panels on the following topics:
- "From Promotion to Result: How IDP Councils Influence Government Decisions. Successful cases of advocacy campaigns and communication with the authorities: what helped to achieve success";
- "Involvement of IDPs and local population in active cooperation and participation in the work of IDP councils";
- "Mechanisms for effective integration and social adaptation of IDPs in host communities".
- The organizers of the event, Stability Solutions Support Services Charitable Foundation, presented a new online platform for IDP councils, the IDP Council Portal - Support, Cooperation and Development of IDP Councils.
The delegation of Donetsk region joined the interactive events: "Open tribune of IDP Councils", workshop "Territory of the future of IDP Councils - 2027", game quests "How IDP Council can support IDPs" and "How IDP Council can support IDPs" with further presentation of results by areas.
Participation in the Eastern Ukrainian Forum was an important step for Donetsk region in forming a unified approach to IDP support at the regional level and in strengthening cooperation between regions hosting IDPs.
