




On August 1, Kyiv hosted a presentation of the results of the Protection Survey in Ukraine No. 1. The event was organized at the initiative of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) with the support of the Secretariat of the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights.
The event was attended by the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights Dmytro Lubinets, UNHCR Deputy Protection Representative Nina Maya Schrepfer, UNHCR Protection Adviser Lidiya Kuzmenko, representative of the Commissioner for the Rights of Citizens Affected by the Armed Aggression against Ukraine Olga Altunina, representatives of the Ministry of Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine, the Ministry of Social Policy, Family and Unity of Ukraine, the Temporary Special Commission of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on the Protection of Property and Non-property Rights of Internally Displaced Persons.
The event was joined online by Deputy Head of Donetsk Oblast State Administration Oleksandr Shevchenko, as well as representatives of structural units of Donetsk Oblast State Administration, district state administrations and local self-government bodies, representatives of the Council on Internally Displaced Persons at Donetsk Oblast State Administration, district state administrations, and local self-government bodies of Donetsk Oblast.
The presentation presented the results of the analysis of the survey, which was conducted in March-April this year. The survey covered the current needs and challenges faced by internally displaced persons and those returning to their places of residence.
Recommendations based on the survey results aimed at improving the system of protection and support for internally displaced persons in Ukraine were also presented.
Following the discussion, the key needs of internally displaced persons in Ukraine and priority areas for further action were identified for effective coordination and provision of effective support.
