On June 16, representatives of the Veterans Policy Department of the Regional State Administration joined a meeting with war veterans and family members of deceased defenders of the Shakhivska rural territorial community.
The meeting was held to discuss topical issues of implementing veterans' policy and providing social guarantees, both at the state and local levels.
The event was attended by Oleksandr Fomenko, deputy head of the Pokrovsk District State Administration, Serhiy Sazhko, head of the Shakhivske Veterans' Administration, representatives of the Pension Fund of Ukraine in Donetsk Oblast and the Dobropole-Myrnohrad Department of the Pokrovske Branch of the Donetsk Oblast Employment Center, as well as social protection specialists from the Shakhivske Village Council.
The discussion focused on benefits and social assistance available at the state and regional levels, local support programs, employment and training opportunities for veterans. Information was provided on healthcare facilities where veterans and military personnel can receive free dental prosthetics and routine treatment.
They also discussed the issue of pension guarantees for servicemen and the need to revise the amount of social assistance. The participants of the meeting were informed about the project of the Ministry of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine in the field of veteran sports, and were provided with a list of sports institutions involved in the project.
The meeting was an important step in strengthening the social protection of the Defenders and their families, contributing to the proper honoring of their contribution and improving the quality of service provision.
