On September 30, a meeting was held with war veterans, their family members, and family members of fallen (deceased) Defenders of Ukraine from the Avdiivka, Myrne, and Velykonovosilky communities.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the Regional State Administration’s Department for Veterans’ Policy, the Commissioner for Persons Missing Under Special Circumstances, the Main Directorate of the Pension Fund of Ukraine in Donetsk Oblast, and the Regional Employment Center, as well as the deputy chair of the Council of Veterans under the Donetsk Oblast State Administration.
During the event, the following issues were discussed:
- the status of veteran policy implementation in the communities;
- the legal status of persons missing under special circumstances during military service;
- social services, payments, and assistance provided by the Pension Fund of Ukraine to war veterans, family members of fallen (deceased) Defenders of Ukraine, and military personnel released from captivity;
- services, payments, and assistance provided by the State Employment Service to war veterans, family members of fallen (deceased) Defenders of Ukraine, and military personnel released from captivity;
- issues faced by war veterans, family members of fallen (deceased) Defenders of Ukraine, and military personnel released from captivity, and ways to resolve them;
- the establishment of the Veterans’ Council under the Donetsk Regional State Administration, the participation of community representatives, and the main areas of its work.
Artur Nasibyan, head of the Regional State Administration’s Department of Veterans’ Policy, spoke about the social benefits provided at the national and regional levels, including housing programs and health resort treatment for veterans and their families.
