On the occasion of the Day of Radio, Television and Communications Workers, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy honored media professionals with state awards.
The President exрressed gratitude for the courage of every journalist working in combat zones and for their contribution to defending Ukraine’s independence and its people.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized that Ukraine will always honor the memory of media workers who have been killed during this war.
The President signed a decree awarding state honors to workers in radio, television, and communications — including representatives of both domestic and international media.
The Order of Merit, 3rd Class, was posthumously awarded to Olena Hubanova, a correspondent and camera operator for the Ukrainian State Broadcasting Multimedia Platform, and to Yevhen Karmazin. They were killed at the end of October in Kramatorsk after a Russian drone strike on the vehicle carrying the journalists.
