Staff Sergeant Vladyslav Bondarenko, call sign “Faza”, was killed on 9 September 2022 as a result of a Russian artillery strike during offensive operations near the village of Sukhyi Stavok in Kherson region. The defender was 24 years old.
Vladyslav was born in the village of Maksymilianivka. He had an electrician’s education and in his free time enjoyed woodworking. He lived in the village of Liudmylivka in the Voznesensk district of Mykolaiv region.
During the full-scale invasion, he took up arms to defend his Homeland as part of the 57th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade named after Koshovyi Otaman Kost Hordiienko, where he served as a staff sergeant of a mortar battery. He was awarded the “War Veteran” badge.
“You are alive where no one dies… I died here, where people live,” his wife Kateryna wrote.
The defender was laid to rest in the village of Liudmylivka, Mykolaiv region.
Vladyslav is survived by his wife, mother, and younger brother.
