The day when Ukraine returns Donetsk will surely come!
It will be a day both difficult and joyful.
But I know for certain: after exposing the occupiers’ crimes, after the Ukrainian flags once again rise over the squares and streets, we will also bring back normal life!
A life where a passport is a guarantee of rights and freedoms, not a condition for survival.
A life where it is not frightening to walk with your children in the streets, listen to your favorite music, speak Ukrainian, express your opinion, and wear the symbols of your country.
A life in which the state cares about meeting people’s basic needs even under the hardest conditions.
A life in which everyone will feel like a free person under the free Ukrainian sky.
Donetsk will once again be strong and beautiful, because its strength lies in its people — those who, despite everything, have been resisting for more than 11 years, risking their lives. These are not dozens, not even hundreds, but thousands!
Happy City Day, Donetsk. We stand firm, we believe, and we work for this day to come!
