Annual Health Recovery Assistance for Citizens Affected by the Consequences of Nuclear Accidents

Annual health recovery assistance is provided to individuals affected by the Chornobyl disaster and other nuclear accidents, namely:

🔹 Persons with disabilities caused by the Chornobyl disaster (Category 1);

🔹 Participants in the liquidation of the Chornobyl accident and other nuclear accidents (Categories 2 and 3);

🔹 Participants in nuclear tests and military exercises involving nuclear weapons;

🔹 Individuals who performed scheduled work involving nuclear charges;

🔹 Individuals exposed to radiation through no fault of their own;

🔹 Children with disabilities whose disability is linked to the Chornobyl disaster;

🔹 Children who lost one parent due to the disaster;

🔹 Evacuees from the exclusion zone in 1986.

Amount of Assistance:

🔘 120 UAH — persons with Group I and II disabilities;

🔘 100 UAH — accident liquidators (Category 2);

🔘 90 UAH — persons with Group III disabilities, children with disabilities;

🔘 75 UAH — accident liquidators (Category 3), children who lost a parent, and evacuees from 1986.

Important:

If a person qualifies for assistance under multiple categories, they can choose one basis for receiving the assistance.

When is it paid?

Once a year — during the health recovery period.

How to apply:

✅ In person — at any service center of the Pension Fund of Ukraine (regardless of place of registration or residence);

✅ By mail or electronically — via the web portal of electronic services of the Pension Fund of Ukraine;

✅ Through authorized representatives of the executive body of the village, settlement, or city council of the respective territorial community or through a CNAP (Administrative Services Center).

The annual health recovery assistance is paid by the bodies of the Pension Fund of Ukraine in accordance with the Law of Ukraine No. 796-XII “On the Status and Social Protection of Citizens Affected by the Chornobyl Disaster” and the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dated July 12, 2005, No. 562.
