From October 2 to 6, 2025, the All-Ukrainian Ju-Jutsu Combat Competition took place in the village of Yablunytsia, Ivano-Frankivsk region, bringing together 332 athletes from 15 regions of Ukraine and the city of Kyiv. The participants competed in full contact, claw contact, ground-fighting and self-defense.
Donetsk region was represented at the tournament by Bohdan Pakhomov and Hlib Leus, athletes of the Bars sports club of the Pokrovska community.
According to the results of the competition, representatives of Donetsk region won six awards among juniors:
Bohdan Pakhomov became a three-time champion of Ukraine in the full contact, clash contact, and ground-fighting divisions (80 kg weight category);
Hlib Leus won a gold and two bronze medals in the full contact, clinch, and ground-fighting divisions (65 kg weight category).
The athletes were prepared for the competition by coach Artem Pyatikhatka.
The high performance of the Donetsk team once again confirms that perseverance, dedication and systematic work of coaches and athletes are the key to success and development of martial arts in the region.
