Today, sports for students are not just about winning or participating. They serve as an important school of resilience, where character is forged and future leaders, defenders, and conscientious, patriotic youth are nurtured.
Sports competitions dedicated to Ukrainian Volunteer Day were held at the Irkliiv Lyceum, a regional educational institution. Teams from four lyceums in the Irkliiv community and a team from the Shakhiv community outpost participated as part of the national project “Side by Side: United Communities.”
The event was given special significance by the words of a soldier-defender. At the start of the competition, military volunteer Dmytro Psarev greeted the young athletes, wishing the participants strength, endurance, and faith in their own abilities. His words inspired the youth to compete fairly, support their teammates, and strive for victory.
Anatoliy Pysarenko, head of the Irkliiv community, addressed the participants with a welcoming speech, thanking the youth for their active participation, noting the importance of sports in raising a strong generation, and wishing them continued success in their studies and lives.
Such events prove once again that sports unite communities, strengthen friendships, and build character. Every victory—big or small—is a step toward a strong future for our country.
