The Road to a New Job: The Story of an Educator from Donetsk Region

Published 24 May 2026 year, 18:55

Sometimes life changes our plans suddenly — without warning. But even in such circumstances, it is important not to lose faith — in yourself and in the future.

Maria Riadova is a teacher by vocation, a biology teacher and preschool educator with more than 16 years of experience working in a kindergarten in Selydove. Because of the war, she was forced to relocate to Kremenchuk and later lost her job after the institution ceased operations.

While searching for employment, Maria turned to the employment service for support. A career counselor helped her update her resume, define her professional goals, and move forward with greater confidence. Maria participated in training sessions, webinars, and online interviews, gradually rebuilding her professional confidence.

Eventually, with the support of the employment service, she was able to return to the work she loves — taking a position as a preschool educator at an early childhood education institution in Kremenchuk.

After the interview, Maria completed an internship, once again proving her professionalism and, most importantly, her sincere love for children. Soon afterward, she received a job offer.

Today, Maria is once again where she truly belongs — alongside children, for whom she has become not just a teacher, but someone they trust and love. The children warm her with their smiles and sincere affection, while she gives them care, attention, and a piece of her heart every day.
