Athletes from Donetsk oblast won 10 medals at the European radio orienteering championships

From June 4 to 7, the city of Lubaczów (Republic of Poland) hosted the European radio orienteering championships for youth, juniors and adults – the competition brought together participants from 10 countries.

Representing Donetsk oblast on the Ukrainian national team were athletes of the Regional children’s and youth sports school and the “Fox” sports club, as well as representatives of the Lyman city community. The athletes traveled to the competition from Germany, Slovakia and Poland, where they are currently residing temporarily.

At the end of the championship, representatives from Donetsk oblast won 10 medals in individual events – 5 gold, 2 silver and 3 bronze.

Oleksii Ivanko was the most successful competitor. He won the “144 MHz Classic” (U20 category), “Sprint” (U21 category) and “3.5 MHz Classic” (U21 category) events. He also won a silver medal in the “Foxoring” discipline in the U20 category.

Anastasia Bondarchuk won two gold medals. The athlete was the best in the “144 MHz Classic” (category W20) and “3.5 MHz Classic” (category W21) disciplines, and also took bronze in the “Foxoring” discipline (category W20).

Orina Ivanko won a silver medal in the “3.5 MHz Classic” discipline among girls under 16.

Maria Kravtsova and Daria Sokur also won bronze medals at the European Championships – in the “144 MHz Classic” (category W19) and “3.5 MHz Classic” (category W21) disciplines, respectively.
